{ " NYX Butter Gloss " }

Left to right: Creme Brulee // Merengue // Vanilla Cream Pie // Maple Blondie // Peaches and Cream

My attempt at an artsy photo.

Left to right: Creme Brulee // Merengue // Vanilla Cream Pie // Maple Blondie // Peaches and Cream

I first purchased three of these glosses back in the summer, the first time I went to Ulta. The first colors I bought were Creme Brulee, Vanilla Cream Pie and Peaches and Cream. I fell in love with these the first time I put one on my lips. They are so pillowy (not a real word...), smooth, and soft on the lips. Not to mention they are extremely opaque. In the swatches above, it is only one "swipe" on my arm of each color.

Creme Brulee is a warm toned nude. It has a slight brown tint, but it doesn't stand out. I quite like it, and I can't often pull off nudes. Merengue (I'm being told this is spelled incorrectly... but this is how it's spelled on the bottom of the tube. Curiouser, and curiouser...) is a bright, "Barbie", blue toned pink. It is definitely my favorite, and is my everyday gloss color. It is the perfect pink-nude lip, and I end up wearing this every day, at some point in the day. I absolutely love the color, it's opaque, and so gorgeous! Vanilla Cream Pie is a beautiful deeper pink. It is not quite bright, but isn't a nude. It is an easy pink to wear, and believe it would work with any skin tone. Maple Blondie is a peachy pink. It will be an absolutely gorgeous summer/spring color. It may even be bordering on coral. Peaches and Cream is a bright pinky coral. I don't quite see any peach in this one, but it really is beautiful. This is definitely more of a summer/spring color, so I haven't worn it at all during the winter and fall months.

These glosses are extremely creamy. When they say they are like butter, they literally are. I love the feeling of them on the lips. Like I said before, they are almost cushiony (I'm making up words left and right.). They are very comfortable on the lips, and are quite hydrating. There is not any stickiness whatsoever, which is also pretty rare. They are not exactly long lasting, but there aren't many glosses that are. They have a nice little doe-foot applicator, which is very soft and helps apply the color nicely. They don't really have a flavor... the scent is light and buttery, kind of like cupcakes. The color of the gloss is pretty much the exact color of the tube, which is great. They are extremely opaque, and you really just need one layer to get the full color on your lips. The lightest color Creme Brulee is not easy to get on evenly, but it's possible. I normally apply them by applying the gloss to my lower lip, and then rubbing my lips together. It seems to work well for me, and come out evenly every time! They run for $4.99 each at Ulta, but I purchased mine on sales. They are totally worth the price, definitely worth every penny!

There is only one more color from this line that I am looking out for, which is Cherry Pie. It is a beautiful red, and I'm hoping to get my hands on it the next time I go to Ulta. They haven't had it any of the times I have been there, they have only had the tester.

I'm sure this review was probably all over the place, but I hope you get the point.
These glosses are stinking awesome! I don't have many lip products that I own five of the same kind, actually... I don't have any besides these! They're my absolute favorites, and I don't think I'll find anything to replace them anytime soon!

Enjoy the little things... like lip gloss!

{ " Jordana Twist and Shine Balm Stains " }

I had heard about the Jordana Twist and Shine Moisturizing Balm Stains for quite some time on YouTube. They were "all the rage" for a while, and just about everyone was raving about them. They evidently are a great dupe for Revlon's Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains.

I only own one of Revlon's JBKBS, and it's mediocre. I haven't been tempted to buy another. Their color range isn't the best, but then again, it does vary from nudes to reds, with a purple in there somewhere. I just don't care for most of their colors. The price of the JBSKS runs anywhere from 6.99 and up. Which is crazy for a "balm" to me. Yes, they have pigment, but I still don't think it's worth the price.

The Jordana Twist and Shine Stains are 2.99 at Walgreens, and they often have BOGO sales on Jordana cosmetics.

I own three colors, one of which I just picked up yesterday:

Swatches left to right:
06 cranberry crush; 02 sweet pink; 05 honey love
Packaging front to back:
05 honey love; 06 cranberry crush; 02 sweet pink

06 cranberry crush is a classic deep cranberry color. It is one of my favorite lip colors to wear, and I will definitely be replacing it once it is finished up. It's a very wearable "red", and I just absolutely love it. It is a gorgeous fall and winter color, but I'm sure I will wear it all year round. 02 sweet pink is your basic bright, hot pink. It is much brighter than the packaging looks, and is super opaque, so I usually wear it under a gloss. I'm pretty sure it is a cool toned pink, and I prefer it for summer and spring weather. 05 honey love is a classing mauve. It is a pinky, brown toned mauve. Unfortunately the swatch is showing up super brown, but is not actually that brown. I absolutely love this color, it's definitely warm toned, and a perfect everyday lip. I can't actually find any good swatches online, but I'll post one once I find one.

These "balm stains" are extremely opaque. Each swatch I have up there is two light passes over my skin. They apply like a dream, and the pointed "crayon" like tip help with easy application. After using them for a while the tip wears down, and it's just more like a flat crayon. Even still they apply wonderfully, and perfectly smooth. As far as the moisturizing aspect of them, I don't find them to be drying, but they also don't really moisturize my lips. They are definitely more moisturizing than any other stain you might try, but they won't replace my Lypsyl anytime soon.

They do stain the lips a bit. I have noticed with 06 cranberry crush that my lips are normally stained red afterward, but that often happens with dark lip colors anyways. The lasting power is supposed to be quite a while, but I don't think they last too long. Maybe two hours without eating or drinking? If you eat or drink the shine is gone, and you're left with a little bit of a stain, but nothing too opaque.

They don't really have a strong scent if any. I have heard people say they smell amazing, but to me they kind of just smell like those candy necklaces my nana used to bring us when we were little. Or maybe even Smarties. But, don't worry about a scent, because it's barely noticeable, and goes away immediately when applied to the lips.

The packaging looks almost identical to Revlon's Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains. Except for the little silver twisty thing at the bottom, they are almost exactly the same. I quite like the packaging, I think it's adorable, and chic. I will give a word of warning, the colors on the tube aren't exactly like the colors you get when you put the product on your lips. Like 02 sweet pink was much brighter when I actually put it on my lips, compared to the case.

Quite frankly I can't find any "cons" with this product.
For the price, and the quality of the product I just think they're great!
I would most definitely recommend these to a friend.

As far as I know you can only find these at Walgreens right now, or on the Jordana website.

{ " Wet n Wild Megalast Lipsticks - First Impression " }

I want to apologize way ahead of time for my absolutely horrible "swatching" abilities. I did lip swatches... and then realized that my lens magnified all the little peach fuzz on my upper lip and around my mouth. Flaws. Everyone's got them. I have never like... felt the need to wax around my mouth... so I guess I just won't be doing any super close up lip swatches, huh? ;) Just thought I'd tell you all the reason for my entire face being in the swatch, rather than just my lips.

Anyhue, now that that's out of the way...

I recently bought two of the Wet n Wild Megalast Lipsticks at CVS. They are a steal at $1.99 a piece, and then they were 40% off, so I just had to try them.

Tati (GlamLifeGuru on YouTube) has mentioned a specific one called, "Think Pink" in many of her videos, and talked about how much she loved it. So, of course, I picked that one up. Then I also found another shade, which I absolutely adore. It's such a gorgeous color!

Yes, I am aware that I look terrified in the picture on the left, but whatever. Let's pretend it's high fashion, or modeling or something. ;)

First I will talk about the lipsticks together, then I will talk about each color individually.

~ The opacity of these lipsticks is absolutely incredible, as you can see in the arm swatches above. That is one "swipe", and that's it. I don't think I have ever had a lipstick that was that opaque. The colors are absolutely gorgeous, and I was shocked by how opaque they are.

~ The packaging is just a black tube. They are thinner than regular lipstick tubes, but I don't mind that. The packaging is cheap, sleek, but cheap.

~ The consistency is actually pretty creamy. The application was much easier with the darker color, but the consistency is pretty much like any matte. If your lips are not hydrated, and are flaky at all, it will pull and tug at your lips. I put on a lip butter about 15 minutes before I put on the lipstick, in order to keep my lips hydrated and have a smooth application. They kind of smell like a crayon, like legit. When I first smelled them, I immediately thought of crayons. They feel quite dry after a little while, but aren't super uncomfortable on the lips.

~ The wear time is actually pretty amazing, I mean compared to lip products I have tried. I put on the color Wine Room at around 4:15PM, and when I got home at 6:00PM it was still completely intact. The lip color had not budged at all, and hadn't started to peel or anything. I ate dinner, and it lasted through dinner, then I ended up wiping it off to do the swatch of the lighter color. I literally had to scrub it off of my lips, and my lips were still kind of red. I know almost two hours isn't that impressive of a time, but for me it was! They definitely stain, because I swatched them on my arm about three hours ago, and it's still there. The lighter color seemed to fade faster, but the darker color leaves quite a stain.

~ Wine Room  is a gorgeous brick red color. It is coming off true to color in the pictures. It is so beautiful, I'm absolutely in love with it. I'm not quite brave enough to wear a true red lipstick, but I feel like a matte red is more wearable than a glossy red for some reason. Anyways, the color is definitely a warm toned red, it's definitely not a cool toned red. For some reason I'm loving to wear cranberry lip colors, and darker lip colors, even though according to like... "beauty rules" you shouldn't wear dark lips without any other makeup. Hey look at me, the rebel. ;)

~ Think Pink is a cool toned baby pink. It is the perfect nude lip. I don't really like light/nude lip colors on myself, but this one is amazing. I don't think it makes me look too washed out, so I'll definitely be wearing it quite often, as long as I can get it to apply nicely.

~ The price is amazing. I mean, come on now. $1.99 for a lip color normally tells you that it's going to stink. But, these are pretty good.

I would definitely recommend Wine Room to a friend, and maybe even some of the other darker colors. I think the price I paid, which was actually $1.19 was well worth it.

I hope someone found this review helpful... and I'm gonna say, "Go git you some!" ;)

Have a great week everyone!

{ " Revlon Super Lustrous Lipsticks " }

LEFT: Sassy Mauve (463) RIGHT: Berry Haute (660)

LEFT: Sassy Mauve (463) RIGHT: Berry Haute (660)

I had been looking for some fall lip colors, that weren't too bold, and I came across these two colors on a couple of YouTube videos. I figured I would look around for them, and that they might be discountinued seeing as the videos were kind of old. I decided to just take a look at Walmart, and I found both colors. They were on clearance for $2.00 a piece, from $4.97 a piece. What a steal! You gotta love random sale items. So, I obviously bought them both. I was so excited, and had to try them out right away!

They both look exactly as they do in the pictures when on the lips. Berry Haute is a pretty cool purple-y mauve, and looks quite purple on the lips. It is very wearable though, but something I'll have to get used to. I'll probably wear it around the house a bit before I wear it out anywhere. Sassy Mauve is a gorgeous warm mauve-y pink. It's one of those "my lips but better" colors. I'll definitely get a lot of wear out of that color!

I have never owned any of these lipsticks before, so I wasn't sure what to expect. They make my lips feel a little funny, and they seem a bit drying. But, they go on very smoothly, and seem to wear pretty well. I mean, what do you expect from a lipstick that's under $5.00?

So excited to wear these for the fall, and hopefully try some other colors out too!
Have a great week everyone!

Enjoying the little things,
